Case Study

Full Product Support

The Internet of Things (IoT) is making life more convenient and creating entirely new markets of products. A manufacturer of IoT pet-related products was looking for a high quality, competitively priced engineering and manufacturing option to help them support their market. The customer wanted to focus on marketing and development of innovative solutions with design and manufacturing partners capable of bringing their ideas to fruition.

SigmaTron International and a strategic engineering partner, Infinite Vision, collaborated on the product development effort, resulting in an innovative, manufacturable/testable design. SigmaTron’s Supply Chain Management team vetted mechanical part suppliers in China to identify vendors capable of meeting quality, volume and pricing requirements. In addition to performing design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for testability (DFT) reviews, SigmaTron built prototypes in its Union City, CA facility, providing the customer with an NPI solution in close proximity to the development effort. SigmaTron’s Tijuana, Mexico facility provided both the volume production and fulfillment center, lowering cost and simplifying the customer’s logistics equation.
