SMT Technician will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and fine-tuning programs for all equipment used in SMP related machines for circuit board assembly. Program development will include but not limited to pick and place, through hole, screen printing, wave soldering, and reflow profiling. Job duties will also include machine operation, setup, line maintenance, training, and helping operators on machine operation and setup, and ensuring proper program performance and efficiency. Support ECN and customer changes to programming during production runs. Works with production, engineering, and machine operators to maintain equipment and to ensure efficient operation of work centers to meet production schedules. Troubleshooting program/process/machine issues and fault corrections.

JOB CONTENTS:
• Creates and updates programs for pick and place equipment
• Instituting ECN/BOM Documentation in accordance with ISO guidelines
• Coordinates maintenance schedule base upon production schedule
• Complete SMT Preventive Maintenance as assigned
• As assigned, order, inventory and source machine repair parts
• Work with process engineers in the maintenance and repair of all equipment utilized in the manufacturing operation and perform out of cycle maintenance as required
• Work with process engineers in locating parts and supplies needed for emergency line maintenance
• As assigned, participate in process improvement to increase First Pass Yield (FPY) of an assembly
• As assigned, participate in Lean Manufacturing efficiency improvement activities.
• Assist with the crating and uncrating of equipment, line moves and the movement and installation of machinery as required
• Logs maintenance performed on machines in database
• Assists with the maintenance of inventory records for all manufacturing machines
• Interprets assembly drawings. Works with production team to interpret assembly work instructions
• Work overtime as required
• Flexible to work on different shifts to cover in case of emergencies, vacation, etc.
• Perform other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High School Diploma and/or Technical Degree
Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience as an SMT Technician.
Special Abilities: Computer skills, mechanical/electrical experience. Handle multiple tasks. Bilingual a plus.
Training Time: Minimum – 6 months
Environmental Demands: Standing over 50% of the time. Must be able to lift 50 pounds
